Neil Smith
Neil Smith
Neil has over 20 years of business experience, including serving as CEO of a manufacturing company and leading large-scale performance improvement.

Prior to EHS, Neil spent six years as the Chairman and CEO of a privately held food manufacturing company, which was purchased through a leveraged buy-out and subsequently sold after revenues grew more than 300%. His manufacturing experience helped Neil to contribute to developing the unique EHS approach to dramatic profit improvement for Fortune 500 companies.

Before buying the food manufacturing company, Neil spent five years with McKinsey & Company, working in New York and London, and building McKinsey's early work in Brazil and Indonesia. As a senior member of the change practice, he pioneered client growth initiatives and led innovative restructurings. His clients included Chase, Travelers, Cablevision, Carpenter Steel, Merrill Lynch, and Connecticut Public Broadcasting, among others.

Previously, Neil was a journalist in London, working with both the BBC and the London Sunday Times.

Neil is British and serves on the International Advisory Board of British American Business, Inc. (the British American Chamber of Commerce). He is a member of Harvard Business School Alumni Board and is Chairman of the U.S. Alumni of the University of Keele.


Education
Neil has an M.B.A. with honors from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Knox Fellow. He also has a B.A. with honours in Physics and Economics from the University of Keele in England.
