Foster brings over 30 years of operations and financial management, strategic planning and program implementation experience to EHS Partners. He joined Cinergy Corp. in 2001 and was most recently CEO and President of Cinergy's Commercial Business Unit. Earlier, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer when EHS launched Project "CIN10" where he played a vital role. While at Cinergy, he had responsibilities for Cinergy's energy merchant operations and regulated generation, including over 19,000 megawatts of electric and combined heat generation. He was also responsible for Cinergy's wholesale electric, natural gas and coal marketing international operations. He also worked closely with the CEO to establish and implement the strategic direction of this Fortune 250 company. Foster continues to be active with the Edison Electric Institute, currently serving on the Wall Street Advisory Group and is past Chairman of the Finance Executive Advisory Committee.
After the merger with Duke, Foster joined Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and formed KD Capital LLC, an affiliate of KKR, and has worked with KKR and its portfolio companies to provide senior advisory services and create value in the utility, energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining Cinergy, Foster was EVP and CFO of LG&E Energy and earlier a senior officer at Freeport-McMoRan and Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold where, in addition to being Vice President and Corporate Treasurer, he managed the domestic and international activities of the treasury, corporate finance, corporate development, strategic planning and transportation functions.
As an investment banker, he was head of the Corporate Finance Department and served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Howard, Weil Financial Corp., a regional investment banking firm specializing in energy.
Education
Foster earned his MBA at the A.B. Freeman Graduate School of Business at Tulane University and graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Government.
