Gordon has over 30 years of experience as a financial, restructuring and bankruptcy business professional and lawyer, working extensively with major financial institutions, including commercial and investment banks, private equity firms and hedge funds. Over his career, he has developed extensive experience in the energy sector, including project development, restructuring, policy and regulation. His transactional experience includes both domestic and international projects.
Gordon has most recently served as a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal, a market leading crisis management and turnaround advisory firm, notably establishing a specialized power sector restructuring practice to advise companies in that sector following the collapse of Enron. He also worked with that firm’s healthcare practice on international restructuring and acquisition opportunities. Previously, Gordon co-founded an advisory partnership, Opus Energy, which advised a number of leading private equity firms in connection with energy sector opportunities.
Earlier in his career, Gordon practiced law as a partner with two leading firms in New York, with expertise in corporate finance, M&A, restructuring and bankruptcy.
Education
Gordon received his J.D. with highest honors from Tulane Law School, where he was an editor of the Tulane Law Review and elected to the Order of the Coif. He earned his B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
