Ellis has spent his career in the areas of business development, marketing and sales. His consulting experience includes serving as the head of partnerships for Eargo, a direct-to-consumer med-tech device manufacturer seeking to disrupt the hearing health industry, and as head of partnerships for Petplan, a leader in the pet insurance space. Ellis developed a three-year enterprise strategy for SourceAmerica, one of the nation’s leading employment resources for people with disabilities. He also served as Vice President, Health Sales and Business Development at ADT and Senior Director, Strategic Accounts and Brand Alliances for AARP, where he established AARP’s first hearing program and deployed innovative membership acquisition programs. Prior to AARP, Ellis also held leadership positions in Marketing and Sales Operations at both Sprint and Nextel.
Ellis currently serves on three nonprofit boards. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for BroadFutures, which assists young adults with learning disabilities find life-changing paid internships, Ellis is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Caregiver Action Network, the country’s leading family caregiver organization, working to improve the quality of life for the more than 90 million Americans who care for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, disease, or the frailties of old age. His prior volunteer activities include serving on The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing’s Parent Section Advisory Council and The Consumer Representative on the Board of Governors for the American Academy of Audiology.
Ellis graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Science with General Honors from The University of Maryland and received his MBA in marketing from the Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
